1994-95 marks the year were many new products arrived, like our first entry: Be A Player. The 180 cards set were numbered at 1995 cases. An 11 cards pack costs 6$ at the time! The Up Close And Personal insert was inserted at one per 8 packs and feature Roy Firestone, an ESPN show host.

1994-95 Donruss Elite Series #3
Donruss hit the market in 1994-95 with its regular set of 330 cards. The one per 36 packs Dominators insert is a trio with Teemu Selanne and Brett Hull. Numbered to 10 000 copies, the Elite series was a tough pull at one per 72 packs.

1994-95 Finest Division's Finest Clear Cut #20
|
Finest has the first messed up entry in my opinion: the protector versus the non-protector card versions. Finest has a pellicule for its 165 cards to pull or not, depending on the owner. At first, I thought that was a parallel, but soon I realize that it was not. So I scratch these off my checklist for every other year, because it's not a "real" variation. They are not like the Refractor, inserted at two per box, or once per 12 packs. The Super Team Winner was for collectors who redeemed the winning New Jersey Devils team card.
As for the other inserts, the Bowman's Best is at a rate of 6 per box (1:4). The refractor parallel was a tough pull at one per three boxes. The Division's Finest Clear Cut was at two per boxes.

|
1994-95 Flair Hot Numbers #1
|
1994-95 Flair Scoring Power #1
Beckett says that Flair was a "super-premium" series back then, with a pack containing 10 cards cost 4$. And it's true, they feel a lot thicker and better quality. Other than his base card, Bure featured in the Hot Numbers and the Scoring Power sets. The first one was once every 16 packs, while the second was two times less scarce at a rate of one per eight packs.
Fleer
1994-95 Fleer #223
|
1994-95 Fleer Headliners #1

Funny thing about Fleer: they made four different front designs, one for each division of the NHL. The Headliner insert was very common at one per four packs.

1994-95 Leaf Promo #10
Leaf was 550 cards set in 1994-95. The Fire on Ice was inserted at one per eighteen packs, while the Gold All-Stars with Brett Hull was a much tougher pull with a rate of 1 per 72 packs. They also are numbered to 10 000 copies. Don't confound the Limited series with the Leaf Limited set. They came at a rate of 1 per 18 packs. Future 2023 me : well, there is also a promo version of the base card! Look at the picture in the background on the rear side and you'll see that the logo is not at the same place, so the photoright next to it!
Leaf Limited
1994-95 Leaf Limited #10
|
1994-95 Leaf Limited Gold #10
|
Like Flair, Leaf Limited is a super-premium series, with the base numbered to 60 000 copies. The Gold insert was a super pull at that time because there's one in two and a half boxes. These were limited to 2 500.

Due to the lockout, Parkhurst released only one series for its 1994-95 set, consisting of 315 cards. A gold version can be found at a rate of 1 per 47 packs.
You Crash The Game came in four colors and were at 1 per 23 packs: Red (Canadian), Blue (U.S. retail), and Green (U.S. hobby). They were dates printed on the cards, and if the team won one of those, it could be redeemed for a special Gold set. Because of the lockout, UD declared all cards were winners. Lastly, the Vintage was 90 cards set issued in the style of older products in the '50s and '60s.

Bure is in one the earliest "case hit" with the unnumbered MVPC, only distributed in Canadian boxes. His base card has two variations; a Rink Collection (1 in 4 packs), and the Artist's Proof, which was one per box. Estimation on the wrapper says that this one was "less than 500 sets", while others say its less than 700 sets.
On the insert side, collectors can find two Gamers cards per box, while Boomer cards are found at a rate of 1 per 24 packs of U.S. series 1 hobby packs. The same rate is for the Northern Light.
Team Pinnacle is a tough pull with a rate of 1 per 90 packs. Bure is with Cam Neely of the Boston Bruins. I'm sure that it was painful back in the days because you also want the duplex back with either one of the players. There is also a solid bronze of the card.

This set was the first complete one my parents gave me at Christmas. Besides the base, the Gold Line parallel is one per pack two per jumbo ones. If you send the complete set can be sent to Pinnacle for a Platinum set. The company sent back your cards and punched them with the Pinnacle logo. They punched them to know that they were redeemed. So 1994 Platinum sets were printed, but we don't know how many were redeemed, but Beckett said that very of them were redeemed.
On the insert side, the 90 points club was at a rate of 1 per 4 packs, while the Dream Team was at one per box. The Franchise was the toughest one to get, with a rate of one per two boxes (72 packs).

Select is a very straightforward set, with a base and a gold version (1 per 3 packs). The production is 3950 cases containing 24 boxes! There is only one insert of Bure in that set, and its the First Line. You can find these at a rate of one per two boxes. There is also a sheet that probably came with the boxes (I presumed).

When SP hit the shelves in 1994-95, it's not the same brand as we'll know a couple of years later. The die-cut is one per pack. For the SP Premier, the base was at a rate of one per nine packs. The die-cut version was a bit tougher to obtain (1:75 packs).

1994-95 Stadium Club Super Team Winners Members Only #24
Due to the lockout, Stadium Club issued only one series. The Members Only version was, you guessed it, only for Stadium Club members. The First Day Issue is one per box, while the Super Team Winners is a redemption. The Dynasty and Destiny insert is also at one per box, but the Members Only parallel was difficult to obtain. It was the last card I found for that year.
Even though they are not rare (1 per 12 packs), the Finest is such a gorgeous card. The Members Only version is sublime too. It's one of my favorites for that year. The Members Only 50 was for the players who participate at the All-Stars Game. The Super Team is also a great photo of Bure, sitting on the boards.

Topps is a 550 cards set (two series of 275 cards). Bure appeared four times. O-Pee-Chee has only 2000 cases printed. Inside each pack, there is a Special Effect parallel. If you want to know if you have the correct version, because some have no text behind, there's a letter beside the Topps name.
With a rate of one per 36 packs in series one, this insert is for players who scored 40 goals in 1993-94. The Go to Guys set is at the same rate. The Finest Bronze set was through the Topps Stadium Club program. It costs 95$ each at that time.

One cool thing about Ultra is that you can pull a "Hot Pack" in your box, consisting exclusively of inserts. Very interesting for a 12 card pack! There is also an uncut sheet. They are some inserts in that series: the most commons are the All-Stars and the Speed Marchants (1 per 2 packs). The Red Light Special (1 per 12 packs) is a cool one, while the Scoring Kings were randomly in series 1.

Oh boy! 1994-95 Upper Deck is the first set to have 20 Bure cards (!). First, we have the bases: the Shooter Edge subset and the regular. Both have an Electric Ice parallel, found at a rate of one per box. He also has a jumbo version of the regular card.
Now, the fun begins! The predictor was a pain in the *** to breakdown. He is in the Hart Predictor and the Art Ross Predictor, both found at a rate of 1 per 20 packs. Only the Hart has a silver and a gold version, while the Art Ross has only a Gold. The Scoring Predictor set is breaking into two parts: this one (1-30) and the Scoring Playoff (31-60). Bure is here four times, and they all have a gold version.
Finally, the SP Insert was a common one with its rate of one per pack. A Die-Cut version also exists. The Upper Deck Hologram is different: the regular is silver while the Die-Cut is gold.
